Terms & Conditions

I hereby agree to use the Owners’ trailer on and to the dates below, for the hire rate and deposit stated below. I fully acknowledge that the trailer shall be returned before the hire lapses, unless I contact M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD for an extension. Failure to do so will result in full loss of deposit plus additional daily rate. All hire rates are to be paid prior to collection or delivery of trailer/s on hire.

 

I agree that I am responsible for any & all bodily injury or property damage that may occur while the trailer is in my possession. Furthermore, I do not hold the owner responsible for any claim whatsoever during the time of my hire. I fully acknowledge that M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD do not provide any kind of insurance and it is my responsibility as the hirer to provide it if required.

 

I agree to lose my deposit if the trailer is damaged, lost, stolen while in my possession, I acknowledge that I am liable for any further charges exceeding my deposit. Any ratchet straps will be charged off at retail price if lost, damaged or stolen during the hire period, any ratchet straps that come as a set will be charged per set. Straps should be inspected for any wear / damage prior to leaving M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD.

 

I agree that M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD can charge extra hire charges on top of losing my deposit. Extra daily hire rate only applies if reasonable notice is given. Any damages will result in a full loss of deposit. I fully acknowledge that M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD can charge me for any extra hire, damages and loss of hire/earnings exceeding my deposit. This is to be paid immediately.

If the trailer is damaged beyond economical repair, lost or stolen, the hirer will be charged the retail replacement price & any loss of earnings at the daily rate until a replacement is in place.

 

The trailer shall not be towed with anything other than the correct tow ball or pin suited to the trailers coupling.

 

It is mandatory that a Number Plate is fitted to the hired trailer before leaving the hire companies premises, however M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD will not be held responsible if you do not display one, or the correct one for the vehicle in use once you have left. M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD can manufacture number plates on the collection premises for all trailers available to hire, however we do not insist it is ourselves that make one.

 

The trailer shall not be moved without its lights in full operation, it is the hirers full responsibility to check this prior to leaving M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD. Once the trailer has left M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD it is the customer’s responsibility to check lights and M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD shall not be held accountable if you are stopped, detained, or fined for incorrectly displaying lights. 

 

A spare wheel is supplied with the trailer, M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD will cover tyre wear, we do not cover tyre damage (Punctures or Blowouts, etc), if the spare wheel is used the hirer will be charged for a replacement tyre.

 

I fully acknowledge that it is my responsibility as the hirer to make sure all necessary licence categories, Drivers CPC, Operator’s licence and tachograph are used if they are required by law for my hire purpose. I fully understand that if the trailer is impounded due to my (the hirers) ignorance to the law, M BARNES TRAILER HIRE LTD hold the right to charge release fees, transportation and any other costs exceeding the deposit. If charges are not paid immediately a debt collection agency will be notified.

 

I the hirer agree that I have checked over the trailer I am hiring and confirm that it is fully road worthy. I the hirer also confirm I have attached the trailer to my vehicle and have check it is fully secure with all stands & jockey wheel in the locked position. I the hirer understand that towing a trailer inside the UK, speed limits are reduced.

I the hirer understand that a fine of: Full loss of deposit or minimum of £125 + Vat, will take place if the trailer reaches or exceeds 65mph. 

If the trailer is seen to be travelling at 75mph or more, the hirer is liable for minimum £500 + Vat or full loss of deposit. Anyone travelling at or greater than 75mph will be reported to the Police & DVSA.

Any travel not authorised to be carried outside of the UK will not be taken lightly and the hirer understands that a £500 + Vat fine will be issued, plus the difference in hire rate.
